Great work, thank you, Stuart!
Something is wrong with your shader, Stu.
If I open your update version of the heli it looks like that.
With Hokus Spokus I get this one. Shader for the fuselage and glass is there....it's not a trick.... it's voodoo....
Its the same shader I use on all our helicopters.
Its looks perfectly normal on my screen.
That is totally weird...but if you watch the last FN film, your heli looks like mine on the first Screeny.
I think that is not a Linux issue because VooDoo has also a Windows-System like you.
I cant explain it other than they different Flight Gear versions are treating the exact same shader completely differently.
Hmm...maybe that could be...FG is strange thing...I think.
I get the same as you, Eagle.
Cool...Alex...um maybe not cool for the heli update.
I think...now three person have the same isssue, me,Alex and VooDoo but for VooDoo he sees the heli over the MP that is also a different stuff.
I tried it out last night and all looked fine to me.

@eagle can you try some of the other heli's (I tried the Scout I think) and see if any of their paints look "shiny" to you?
I'm not getting any shine/reflection at all on the paints of certain heli's and I think this is related.
The AS350 works fine and the paints look lovely and reflective but the Wildcat is washed out and the scout looks all matte and a bit faded
Most helis are set to how shine on paints that should be shiny. Its livery specific.
My results, Alex
The Scout has the same issue....shader of the fuselage and of the glass doesn't work.
With some changes it looks like that.
The shader of fuselage for the AS350 works....and the glass shader didn't
With glass shader
The scout you have did not have the fuselage effects file on it. Its being added in the next release version.
If I download the scout from the Hangar....I get this in the xml file....and these are the setting of the effects
your shader didn't work on the scout....and you said you use always the same shader....explain to me why the shader works on the AS350 and not on the Wildcat....
Stu...are you alive..... I'm worried....Hello Honey Bunny.
Sorry. Day was screwed as my Daughters car broke down in a town 50 miles away. Rescued her. Car currently abandoned.
Uff....50 miles away...that is far away. I hope your daughter is not to shocked from the broke down of the car and of course she didn't had get some health issues.
Papa rescued...that is our job....as always.
In Germany we say to car = Auto....that means it's begin with A =aaaaaa so cool (at the buying ).... and it end up with O = oooooo Gott o Gott..(after some years ago).
Police livery wont help, lol
In the menu bar you find view.... click on it and then click graphic options.
Then click advanced options.
Clicky de clack atmospheric light (ALS) then go to Model Effects and enabled it....and now sweet heart you have the shader for the fuselage and glass (if glass shader works).
If it doesn't work call the doctor... : )
