This is what it looks like. This is 2 separate objects, the base and the throttle. I am trying to make the little button on the top a different colour, but I can't seem to figure out the UV unwrap properly.

Has anyone had any experience with this?

After being disappointed too many times when disconnecting the AP in a heli and it immediately killing me, we've been working on a solution.

A few ideas down and Stuart not liking the idea of it always being visible I've put a little indicator in the AP dialog box that shows where your control positions are Vs those of the autopilot.

Line the green inputs up (yours) with the magenta ones (the AP) and then disconnect the AP and you should find yourself maintaining a flight path roughly similar to the autopilot without the immediate death.

We'll start to roll it out in Heli's as they are released or updated.

Royal Navy Buccaneer S.2s from HMS Ark Royal made a record-breaking 2600-mile round trip to British Honduras to deter a potential invasion from Guatemala.

The flight plan involved taking off from HMS Ark Royal, a high-level route avoiding Cuba across the Bahamas and Yucatan Channel, refueling from two other squadron aircraft using the buddy-buddy system, and then overflying Belize City and the airfield before returning. This mission was notable for being entirely unsupported by outside assets and lasted 5 hours and 50 minutes. 

Detailed flight plan

· Takeoff: Two Buccaneer S.2s launched from HMS Ark Royal.

· Refueling: Within 40 minutes, the two Buccaneers were refueled mid-air by two other squadron aircraft using a buddy-buddy system.

· Route: The Buccaneers flew a high-level route over the Bahamas and Florida Keys, through the Yucatan Channel, and avoiding Cuban airspace to reach British Honduras.

· Flyover: The aircraft overflew Belize City at 1,000 feet and the airfield at 400 feet as a show of force.

· Return: The planes returned on a similar track, were intercepted over the Keys by US Air National Guard F-102s, and then returned to HMS Ark Royal.

· Mission: The flight was part of a deterrent mission in response to threats from neighboring Guatemala.

· Duration: The entire mission was 2600 miles and lasted for 5 hours and 50 minutes. 

In 1972, Ark Royal and 809 RNAS were despatched "with haste" from the North Atlantic to 'show presence' over British Honduras, now Belize, in the face of neighbouring Guatemalan threats to invade Belize. Steaming hard at 27 knots, and when eventually off Bermuda, two Buccaneers were launched along with two more buddy tanker versions to make one of the longest journeys of its type.[11] In a six-hour round trip the two Buccaneers showed presence over Belize and made the Guatemalan government, with its P-51D Mustangs and limited ground forces, hesitate long enough for other events to intervene.

What I need to check is on a flightnight where we are flying different aircraft, is that I am only seeing the default aircraft.

Will monitor

Still loads of towns, villages and areas without power.

For myself, we still had not don clearing the trees that came down in the storms before Christmas ( 10 trees then ). This time we lost at least another 10, but cant do an accurate count because they are intertwined with each other.

We had 2 caravan in our storage area damaged. 1 is definitely a write off. The other we cant tell yet. Yesterday we moved all the other storage vans out of the storage area to allow us in to start diging out the other 2 vans.

I'd like to wish y'all a happy new year, albeit a bit late lol, may it be prosperous and filled with new achievements and joyous moments.

I've seen you've been on some pretty cool adventures on the flightnights, looks awesome and the pics are top notch as always.

Have a good one FGUK’ers!

My very old ex-corporate Dell Latitude is on its last legs. Its never been brilliant for FGFS, but ok for code development and testing. It has an I5 processor, and 8GB ram.

I'd like to replace it with a 2nd hand machine, but I'm a bit unsure where to start. Not sure about GPU options, I know I need Open GL supporting hardware, but thats about it. Looking for something more like a 'gaming' laptop.

Any advice is welcome!

I'll be honest I haven't used it recently because having to wear a clip on thing with a hat/headset got a bit annoying and it generally felt clunky.

I saw an article in the FG wiki on using OpenTrack (https://github.com/opentrack/opentrack) 

and  AI Track (https://github.com/AIRLegend/aitrack/releases) 

Along with this addon, which gives you some more settings in FG: https://sourceforge.net/p/flightgear/fgaddon/HEAD/tree/trunk/Addons/Headtracker/

Using AI Track to send my webcam feed to OpenTrack and then OpenTrack to push it into FG and I have to say it's like night and day. It works flawlessly and after a bit of setup time it's brilliant. You can even use it with a mobile phone camera with an app - although I bet that gets a bit annoying.

If you've got a webcam of any sort laying around and don't already have a head tracking solution I think it's got to be a must. It's all Open source and free so nothing to lose by trying it. 

Using it with the Vulcan while testing air to air refuelling made it all so much easier.

I thought I would offer this here before listing it on eBay. I have never used it, so can't' say if it will work or not. But it is complete and un-damaged, just shows signs of use. I only have the throttle, no stick, I had intended to modify it years ago to work with an Arduino based simulator, but then got into the Lightning project instead.

The pictures say it all. I assume someone here will know more about it that I do...

Looking to raise funds for the Lightning simulator build project with this sale.

Hopefully everyone is enjoying the Vulcan and we've not found too many showstopper issues, but we'll need to collate the bugs/F***ups/desires/dreams etc.

• Livery issues for some / need to confirm how the liveries are being passed over MP and why some users are only seeing their own or partial liveries.
• Lights over MP / Same as above
• TAB Menu to include mouse control for those who use it & outdated armament system removed
• "Help" file to be updated
• Start with brakes on
• Auto Shut down to be added
• Wheels update
• Standardisation of reflections across liveries
• Autopilot needs tweaking & allowing for future updates to be more realistic
• Terrain Following Radar to be added (Thanks Warty)
• Bump map including rivets to be referenced
