FlightNight Dec. 10th - Choppers Getting Real in Iceland! Volcano Tour with Real Live Weather!

We'll meet at 8 pm London Time at ICAP: BIVM - Vestmannaeyjar Airport on the island of Heimaey of the South coast of Iceland. Please bring the Helicopter of your choice from the FGUK Hangars that can attain/maintain 750' AGL up to 6000' and 130 KIAS for an hours duration. We'll be flying Real Weather (Live Weather) and it's pretty dark this time of year even at noon. Be prepared for ice and snow squalls and high winds.

We'll depart Southwest to the view Surtsey Volcano. My intent is to land on the island briefly if weather permits so check out your Volcanos Option in yer Environment Menu and practice making that work so you can see the plume and stuff. We'll then depart the Island and fly back Northwest and observe Eyjufjallajokul and Katla Volcanos before heading back to ICAO: BIBA - Bakki Airport for our midpoint refresh.

We'll depart after refresh and refuel and head up the coast to BIKF, BIRK, and lad at ICAO: BISS - Sanskeid Airport as our final destination.

Comms on TeamSpeak as always.

The weather promises to be positively hideous and snow squall combined with smoke and ash from the volcanos will make this interesting for certain. Pick a chopper yer really comfortable with check your Volcano Functions in Environment Settings.

See ya there!
