Operation Market Garden
The Anniversary of this Operation takes place between 19/21 of this month. I suggest a flight night to commemorate. In the event you all have other plans, I suggest a taking off from Eindhoven EHEH, thanks to the American 101st this is possible and dropping paras at EHTL Arnhem airfield. Not the best at flight plans lads, anyone? up for improving this?

Now that's a cool idea! Let's make it happen
The Dakotas have a bit of a tendency to have MP issues but we've got a couple of weeks to fix it.
Any chance, Mr Actor, you could look at the two (or more ) Dakotas in FG and see which is the best. Then Stuart and I can do some MP testing and see whatll need to be done to make the fancy bits work over MP?
Oh, should this be taken up, here is the DC3/C47 file with my livery.
Here is the most recent remake. In my flight sim experience the best of this type, includes my livery. Windscreen wipers work too!
clickable to the left of red notice, Helijah's version despite being updated recently and looking prettier is lacking, I love multi engines, on this one thing, this is the best m8.
Tried uploading file but over 50mb, So recommend flight gear download, search c47 for most recent. Cant figure out cloud anymore, brain cells took a hit!
Just give a link to the source you got it from.
My Uncle was a Lt with the Paras and a parachute instructor at Arnhem.
Something to be proud of m8, link is from Official Flight Gear site, search c47, however click keep as warning pops up. Still safe.

Oh, just a wee point m8, during the Arnhem battle, did they do much parachute instruction? Never mind he no doubt helped/saved many lives thanks to his experience and tuition.

Instructor prior to the jump.
Logic dictated that point m8!
Pilots Notes regarding the Dc3/C47, Ignore advice from Help menu about take-off flaps, drop them to 15 degrees and she will lift of without Pilot input. Landing.....well....go easy on the brakes or else you will be admiring the grass close up! The Dak is reasonably acrobatic, however cargo tends to throw up a lot. Main point is....you press gear up on your Hotas, rewarded by gear up sound? Aye right..it is still down!!! So use keyboard or assign new gear up/gear down key. I have flown this Aircraft countless times, in all weather scenarios and locations, she is a beauty!
For flight plan, Allied paratroopers made their combat jumps between 600 to 800 feet. Although this may seem rather low, keep in mind that while descending the paratrooper is defenceless. The quicker he is on the ground, the quicker he can present suppressive fire which will begin to secure the DZ. Richard V. Horrell WW 2 Connections.com The preferred altitude for British Para's was 500 ft in W.W.2. Today with an improved type of parachute they drop at 250 ft.
Nice one m8!
Here are liveries for RAF/USAF, downloaded from FG website. I tried uploading in one zipped folder however received error 404 message. My apologies. For those not familiar with this aircraft, once installed, 2 versions are available, Yasim and Jbsim, Jbsim over 9000 will loose power and engines will cut out over 9700. Given the Dc3/C47 max ceiling is 23,200 or 9000 on 1 engine I recommend Yasim type. As a typical tail dragger she is entertaining to taxi! press low case l to unlock/lock tail wheel then comma and full stop , . to operate toe brakes left/right. If you use the Hud, press I to change Hud type, there are a few to choose from.
Hi Actor,
I have a some engine sound of the DC-3 for you.
Test it out maybe you think it's better....if not put it into the trash...zero problem...who cares....have a nice a day.
Thank you very much eagle, far superior sound! Do you have a livery preference for the DC3? Let me know, please.
Getting my crayons ready!
Ok...cool...I have a wish.
Make this livery for me please...but don't make pressure for yourself ,Actor...all is only a fun thing here. If you have time you have time.
On the bottom of the fuselage you can see there are white stripes (feather or what) this is probably not possible, because I think the UV-map has not enough space for this painting on the bottom...let it be blue for example or try it out. The rest should be possible to paint.
And thank you too...that you like the sound from hell....hehe....from now you are my fourth best friend here.

Time is the one thing I have plenty of!
Good thing I have plenty of these, lol
Eagle, with regard to the livery wished for. I noticed the South African flag on the rudder, I would not normally ask your Nationality but are you South African? It is relevant to the project.
Lol....nope...I'm a German and I was born in the west of Berlin and we live near by the lake of Constance....in the totally south of Germany.
Switzerland, France and Italy are not fare from us...that is a cool place for jumping around.
The Nationality is in that case not important for me because I like the the livery...that is the important thing of it...that's it...in my smarty pants opion.
I hope you don't have a problem with that painting, Actor....but if you have..... zero problem...let it be....easy peasy.
Yep, just cant get graphics close to silver falcon livery! Sorry to let you down :(
Zero problem...as I said, Actor
Why fly like a Falcon, when you can soar like an Eagle! Not quite what you wanted, post conflict Coastal Command C-47.
Hope you like her.
Hals und Beinbruch!
Asterix was a wuss, Avionix is well tougher!
Have not altered the Reg No as ZA-947 in reality is currently serving with The Battle of Britain Flight.
https://airport-data.com/aircraft/ZA947.html
What...what is that,Actor...that is far from what I expected.
But.... yeah... I can see your efforts...and you have some skills...copy and paste and to bring the things in the right position...but for me that is not enough,Actor.
Sorry honey bunny.
I prefer more complex liveries...like that. And I know that what I gave you in the link is not so easy to paint. Maybe it looks easy but it's not. Don't worry about that....the life goes on, Actor.
Raise your cups and drink a lot of coffee...vamos amigos.
Will Vamos, as Instructed. Whatever you all choose, hope you have a great Flight Night. Will not trouble you again.
Lol...you don't trouble me....you trigger me in a weird funny way.
But it's fine it's fine.
Have a peaceful and nicely evening, Actor.
Moving over to DCS, good luck to all!
Lads what's going on here?
Stuart and I are going to get the MP testing of the aircraft if that'd be useful?
@Actor are we looking at Manston as a start point?
To be honest, nothing nice from my point of view, anyhow, suggest Manston-EGMH=EBOS Oostende @ 2000ft then 600ft terrain permitting =EHEH Eindhoven, Note Nijmegen - Arnhem are green diamond landmarks on map. On approach to river at Arnhem suggest flight turns to port and flying parallel to river drops paras before bridge, not sure about return, Antwerp was liberated on 4th Sept and was used as allied airfield. So realistic refuel point. After that? Well had not yet figured that one!
Gong to give Digital Combat Sim a go, for a while I cant be ill again, on almost top dosage meds for depression, hope you understand, I need to avoid stress/hassle.
Will drop in now and again though.
Ooh... I didn't know that you have some health problems.
My apologize, Actor if I was to rough to you. My fault, I hope you can forgive me....it's my temperament the Berlin blood roots... I can't turn off...I say a big sorry again...and best wishes to you...that you get health.
