FlightNight August 6th - Choppers Return to New Zealand!
We'll meet at 8 pm London time at ICAO: NZQN - Queenstown Airport in New Zealand. Please bring the helicopter of your choice from the FGUK Hangars that can attain/maintain 110 KIAS to altitudes of 11,000' for an hours duration. In the second half of this flight, you'll need to climb at 1500 FPM and maintain about 90 KIAS so, check that while you select your mount for the evening.
The Route Manager file is for scenery gathering only and the actual flight will not follow this route. From POO, we will travel West and then North following the water of Lake Wakatipu to Dan's Paddock (Gandalf's Approach to Isengard) and points beyond until we end up at NZMF: Milford Sound Airport as our midpoint refresh and refuel point.
After refresh and refuel, we will leave NZMF and do some tricky climbing and flying to get above existing terrain and fly directly to ICAO: NZMC - Mount Cook Aerodrome - as our final destination.
Quite possibly the best mountain scenery we have seen so far with Orthographic Scenery running so, get that if you have not already done so. Should be loads of fun and great stuff to see!
