Orthos for Vietnam Flightnight
Stuart, or anyone with access to a photoscenery generator, could you gather the orthos for next weeks flightnight. I can't because I never have enough time to do it, because the process takes hours.
Here is the flightplan that will be in use:

I dont have the generator.
Oh my bad I probably meant Oly then :)
Yup....make a thread in The FlightNight Forum and ask Oly. You can edit the thread you start to announce the Flight and Flight Plans/aircraft requirements etc.
VooDoo
Alr, I'll do that tomorrow if all goes well.
Can anyone explain to me what an otho is?
I have been reading a bit about Julia photoscenery, is this what you are using?
I just dont know much about scenery/terrain yet.

Yes, I'm using the Julia photoscenery. An ortho is basically a satellite image of a specific area.
Thank you!
I'm very interested in implementing some of this in my install of FGFS, as the default stuff is a bit of a let-down.
So, as I see you guys sharing zip files of certian parts of the world, I guess it's not done by Terra Sync on the fly?

No it's done by running a script that is included in the Julia photoscenery generator folder, with which you can specify different parameters like image quality, range, thread usage and more.
Here's the link so that you can read all about it https://wiki.flightgear.org/Julia_photoscenery_generator
Don't forget you'll need a version of FGFS that supports the Orthographic textures.
VooDoo
Yes that too, I almost forgot, thx VooDoo.
Brilliant, thank you guys... Looks like I will need to update FGFS then!
May be a good excuse to clear out this laptop and start with a fresh install of an up-to-date distro too.
