Creating an Aircraft
So to understand how to create aircraft for FG, I am going to try throwing together a fictional one, now I just need some advice on a couple of things.
1 - 3d Model - so the fuselage is fine (pretty straight forward), how would I approach the canopy/glass?
2 - FDM - is there an example one somewhere that I can adapt/use as a base?
3 - Animations - gears, canopy opening, switches and knobs - how would I start approaching this?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Another thing I'd like to ask is, texturing... how do you start, how do I make sure the model is not see through, etc.

For an FDM to adapt, you would need an FDM from a similar aircraft , Jet or prop, Multi engine/ single engine etc.
So, the one I'm cobbling together is a single engine prop, so just take any single engine prop FDM and adapt?

So, I've created a base 3d model of the exterior, how do I setup the UV/texturing so that it will have some form of livery? (I'm using Blender for modelling).

Im not the person to as about 3d stuff.
a turbo prop and a piston engined prop are also different.
Hi Orbi
I think that doesn't work over the forum but I give it a try.
Better way is to watch tutorials over YOUTUBE particularly UV unwrapping.
Ok, now how can I make the canopy glass?

Here we go.
