Save our airfields
Recently we have all no doubt seen a few airfields be bulldozed and turned into housing estates. These are wonderful parts of our countryside, but unfortunately money talks louder than sentiment and enjoyment.
This petition looks to re -cassify airfield land from brownfield to greenfield, putting another barrier in the way of the housing developers.

To cement the UK as a world leader in general aviation.....????....
Are you sure GB is world leader in general aviation?
GB is way under in the ranking list.
I think that is not totally correct what Sarah Deacon has written.

Signed.
Agreed the wording is nonsense, but to classify airfields as greenfield land would help to preserve them.
Wellsbourne was under threat a couple of years ago. Its home to one of three Avro Vulcans in fast taxiing condition. There are only two ways to feasibly move a Vulcan... Fly it out, or scrap it. These airfield buy-ups end up killing our heritage.
Look at what happend to poor old Bruntingthorpe, yay, car storage, thats of cultural, historucal and educational benefit to society.
