FGUK Radar Module Beta V.1
Hi All,
To avoid having to have the map or similar open on FlightNight I developed this little, modular, radar gauge. It's designed to be able to be put into any aircraft with only a couple of lines of code so it should fit to whatever you like. The included gauge is a basic modern looking thing, but it also can be added to almost any surface or gauge style you like.
Settable range, can have it with "up" as north or following the aircraft and you can even set flight leader to be a different colour than t'others.
If you lot can test it, see what happens and then we can spread the love with the wider world.

That's really cool! Nice work..
Can it be made square too? And is it easy to specify shades of orange instead of green?
Just thinking of adding it to the Lightning radar scopes for now, prior to coding the real thing.

Looks great Alex, could I ask for some guidance as to how to actually add this to an aircraft? Or is it like an addon or something?

@Scott Yes the colours are all set in the nasal file and the shape is simple to manipulate, I'll take a look in the lightning next, can you perhaps email me any images you might have that show it in operation and we'll see what we can refine? I'd be happy to help.
@OrbitalMartian I tried to cover everything, with some examples, in the readme file. Can you have a look at that and see how good a job I did or if there's areas I missed/failed in? I'd like to to be as easy as possible for people to add.
Awesome, I’ll look at the README soon. I didn’t even look there yet. I’ll let you know :)

Great piece of kit Avionyx! I have followed readme instructions as far as I can, however I lack the knowledge to have the radar up and running. Would you be kind enough to send me completed/amended files (Nasal, Model ect) for any of our aircraft, I will then by comparison be able to see how to amend other aircraft files.
Once more thank you and well done.

@Actor give this a go, it's an updated version of the Aero Commander:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwipCEeezJP1aHMzcENFUFdONXc/view?usp=drive_link&resourcekey=0-RPqMLNnmIbeEhJpBHqLLCA
The bits you want to look at are line 182-184 in the commander-base.xml file
Then the nasal file is in the /Nasal folder
/models/interior/panel/panel.xml has, at lines 210-226 the stuff for the gauge and the range knob.
You could literally just drag and drop the folders in place then copy and paste those lines into another aircraft and it should work enough for you to be able to see how it's laid out.
Happy to do a screen share sometime if you want to go through it?
Thank you very much! will get to work in the morning!!! Met N-66 over US, location top secret! His UFO visible from smoke miles away, however no radar contact on screen? On/
Off button issue?

Interesting, it looks like it's zoomed way in.
Also perhaps open your online pilot list.
What version of fg are you running?
Alex, this is quite the addon you've developed, I see it being very useful.
Old version 2020.3.16, installed latest however my old system just could not hack it, It was prone to freezing anyway, so visited my local PC shop, being going there since Pontius Pilate was a boy! Told the owner what I needed so picking up new rigout in a couple of weeks. Can not wait to go full monty with graphics! Thank you once more for the add on and support!
Will just get lost till then!
I'm lost again!
Actor,
After a bit of testing, on some versions you need to open the multiplayer pilot list in the top menu Multiplayer>Pilot List bit, and then it'll show the aircraft.
Roger! regardless of version. My system not up to task m8, struggles at present, so time to upgrade. See you "In The Blue" soon.

I bought a decent PC at Christmas, Fgfs is so much better, but also am now able to use Tesseract quickly to OCR documents, have played with Meshroom photogrammetry, etc.. It opens up a load more options. Brilliant piece of kit, you'll be glad when yours is built!
